Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information BroCode(“BroCode”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use our app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built BroCode to feel private, and we keep the data we touch to the minimum needed to make it work.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the BroCode web app and marketing site. By using BroCode, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. You can start anonymously — no name, email, or phone number required. If you choose to sign in, we receive basic profile details (such as a display name and, where applicable, an email address) from the sign-in provider you use.
- Your content. The Bro Books, code words, meanings, and signals you create are stored so your group can share them. They are visible only to members of your group.
- Usage and device data. Like most apps, we and our service providers may collect limited technical data (such as device type, app version, and basic diagnostics) to keep the service running and secure.
On-device features
The Decypher feature scans text for your code words directly on your device. The message text you decypher is not uploaded to our servers.
How we use information
- To provide and maintain BroCode and your Bro Books.
- To deliver signals between members of your group.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To display ads that help keep BroCode free (see below).
Service providers we use
We rely on trusted third parties to operate BroCode. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms:
- Google Firebase(authentication, database, and hosting) processes your account and content data so the app can function. See Google’s Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
- Google AdMob / AdSense serve the ads that keepBroCode free. Ad providers may use cookies and similar technologies to measure and personalize ads. Learn more at Google’s Advertising policies.
Cookies and advertising
Our website and ad partners may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, analytics, and advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalization through Google Ad Settings. Where required by law, we ask for consent before using non-essential cookies.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share the contents of your Bro Books or messages with advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your content or request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below; we will remove your data within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations.
Children
BroCode is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or on this page.
